Sarah Shi

Sarah joined Palette Architecture in 2021. Earlier in her career, she gained valuable experience working on large-scale commercial and institutional projects, with a focus on the early stages of design. Since joining the team at Palette she has contributed to projects of various scales through all phases of design, from initial concept to construction. Her contributions range from crafting intimate spaces for homes to exploring how buildings contribute to the broader context of neighborhoods. She appreciates how her work at Palette brings together creative thinking and thoughtful engineering and has a strong interest in sustainability and building technology and systems.

Growing up in Nanjing, China, Sarah's upbringing was deeply influenced by the city’s dynamic transformation—where bustling alleys intersect with contemporary towers against a backdrop of centuries-old architecture. This experience fueled her fascination with architecture, as she came to believe in the transformative impact of design. Outside of the office, Sarah enjoys traveling, roaming around the city, and doing yoga. Her latest endeavor involves delving into the world of 3D animations using various digital tools.

Sarah holds a B.A. in Architecture from The University of Pennsylvania and an M.Arch. from Columbia University. She is certified as a LEED Green Associate.
